The threat of boring ash beetles caused the USDA to impose quarantines and fines to prevent the spread of the infestation. This posed a problem for our customer who used spacers made of oak timbers, from areas where boring ash beetles were present, to transport goods across state lines. We researched several different materials and tested each design to ensure we met all of the necessary qualifications. We developed a workable product composed of a new recycled wood pulp plastic composite that was both cost effective and performed well under load.
